Our Reviews
Tributary Cafe is the latest restaurant to open in Fort Worth’s River East district, a gentrifying-as-we-speak area, on the east side’s Race Street, that many are hoping will evolve into the city’s next hip urban development, a la the Near Southside.
Chef Cindy Crowder-Wheeler provides a remedy with her Tributary Café, an affaire de coeur featuring New Orleans Creole classics and fresh Gulf seafood prepared expertly enough to make the tiny spot a destination favorite.
It seems almost too good to be true that, located near the Trinity River in Cowtown, there could sit an unassuming mecca of scratch-made Creole cuisine in an ultra laid-back environment with a genuinely hospitable staff.
Cindy opens a river-themed bistro in a former 1940’s bungalow to showcase her Creole-Cajun cooking. Seafood gumbo is destined to be her signature dish, with pistolettes – French rolls stuffed with creamed shrimp, lobster or crab – likely to score big points, too.
