Our Reviews

Tributary Cafe is the latest restaurant to open in Fort Worth’s River East district, a gentrifying-as-we-speak area, on the east side’s Race Street, that many are hoping will evolve into the city’s next hip urban development, a la the Near Southside.

It seems almost too good to be true that, located near the Trinity River in Cowtown, there could sit an unassuming mecca of scratch-made Creole cuisine in an ultra laid-back environment with a genuinely hospitable staff.

Cindy opens a river-themed bistro in a former 1940’s bungalow to showcase her Creole-Cajun cooking. Seafood gumbo is destined to be her signature dish, with pistolettes – French rolls stuffed with creamed shrimp, lobster or crab – likely to score big points, too.

  • I ate at this restaurant with three friends on a Wednesday night and we all absolutely loved it. Great, great food. Attentive service. Big Easy atmosphere. Good selection of tap beers and good wine list. Welcome addition to Race St. I hope fine dining can survive here.

  • Found a new favorite! The restaurant is in an adorable, beautifully restored house. The decor is quirky and unique. The food was fabulous. Started out with green fried tomatoes that were crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Had the brunch special, a crab lobster risotto that was amazing! Bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert! Yummy! Spent time on the patio after we ate and enjoyed a couple of beers while enjoying the music of Squeezebox Bandits.

  • Loved it, from the fried green tomatoes, the roux that was the base of the Gumbo for appetizers. Then on to my Crawfish Etoufee and Veronica's Shrimp Victoria, it was soo good. The ambience is something special as well, the staff and music is topshelf. Can't wait to come back.

  • Everything at Tributary was fabulous, from the menu set up and ambience, to the staff and food. I went for brunch this past Sunday with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful experience. We were greeted as we came through the door by staff and part-owners, and quickly found a quaint table with two chairs and a pew seat near the patio door. The menu is set up to display each course as the different stages of tributaries. We ordered Bloody Marys, which were great, and had the shrimp remoulade appetizer, which was enough for each of us and delicious. He had the Dirty Benedict; texture of the Benedict was incredible and the Dirty rice was the best I've ever had. I had the Crawfish Etouffee, which is a favorite of mine; this one didn't disappoint. We finished with a bread pudding and key lime pie, and both were to die for, but the bread pudding is AN ABSOLUTE MUST.

  • Just ate at Tributary Café and good Lawd!! Hands down the best restaurant I have been to! The food was incredible, the fresh grouper was melt in your mouth amazing . The beef po boy was beautifully fall apart tender , the biscuits and gravy were the best I have ever had . Ever . The poached eggs on the dirty Benedict were cooked perfectly ( a huge plus in my brunch book!) . The blood orange mimosas were perfection and the bread pudding ......... don't even get me started. The tables were beautifully yet simply decorated and the whole atmosphere was happy and warm. I really could go on and on but you will have to go check it out for yourself!
